    Alexander ‘Sandy’ Mackay

Our son, Alexander William Burman Mackay, or as we will call him Sandy, was born at 1.52am on Monday morning. Although I managed to avoid crying as he actually arrived, the first glimpse I caught of him, and the first sounds of his crying filled me with visceral emotion. Three days of hard work later and I still can’t stop staring at him in awe. As a befitting a kid born in 2011, you can keep up with him on his website sandymackay.net and on twitter @seaandsandy

We got the all-clear in the end, although we still have to go back for more tests. Panic over, although we really can’t fault the thoroughness of the NHS. Had a pretty decent lunch in the Lansdown restaurant at the RUH too.

    CenterParcs

Julia and I just got back from our three night ‘babymoon’ stay at CenterParcs Longleat.  Babymoons are a bit like honeymoons except you go on them just before you have a baby as opposed to just after you get married. Can’t say enough good things about CenterParcs itsself and Longleat safari park next door which we visited on Friday.  With both being about a 30min drive from Bath we kept asking ourselves: ‘Why haven’t we been here before?’
